Hi, I'm Diane
Founder & writer, Primaurea
I'm 54, and four years ago I went through the roughest stretch of my menopause transition — the hot flashes that woke me up three times a night, the mood swings I couldn't explain to my husband, the weight that suddenly wouldn't move no matter what I did. My doctor was helpful, but appointments are short, and I had a hundred questions that didn't fit into a 15-minute visit.
So I did what a lot of us do: I started reading. Studies, forums, ingredient labels, and yes, a lot of supplements — some that helped, plenty that didn't. Primaurea is the notebook I wish I'd had when I started: a place to compare what's actually out there, in plain language, without the miracle-cure language so much of this industry uses.
I'm not selling you a fantasy. Some products I write about surprised me. Others were a disappointment I'm honest about. My goal is that by the time you finish an article here, you know more than you did — not that you feel pressured to buy something.
What I am — and what I'm not
- I am: a woman who has lived through menopause, researched it extensively, and tested many of the products I write about myself.
- I am not: a doctor, gynecologist, endocrinologist, or licensed nutritionist. Nothing on this site is medical advice.
- Always talk to your own doctor before starting a new supplement, especially if you take medication or have an existing health condition.
How I score a product
Every review ends with a score out of 5, built from seven criteria: what the product promises, ease of use, how it is built and what data it publishes, evidence and honest claims, price for what it is, checkout, and guarantee. The criteria do not weigh the same, so the final score is a weighted average. When I have not taken a product myself, I say so on the review, and the score is a technical rating based on the label, the order page and the research, not a customer score or a test result.
Thank you for reading — and if you have a question or a product you'd like me to look into, reach out.
