My verdict: a rich peptide cream for face and neck, with more on its label than its sales page tells you, and a 30-day guarantee.

What Is South Beach Repair & Release Cream, and Who Is It For?

Short answer: South Beach Skin Lab Repair & Release Cream is a peptide face and neck cream, made for women who want smoother, firmer-looking and well-hydrated skin after 50. The 30 ml jar lists six named peptides, including Argireline, plus two forms of vitamin C, sodium hyaluronate, tranexamic acid, squalane and a blend of butters and oils, used morning and night.

A quick note on how I wrote this: I have not used Repair & Release myself. This is an in-depth research review. I read the full ingredient list on the official South Beach Skin Lab store line by line, checked the prices on the official order page on October 10, 2026, and looked up the published research on the main ingredients.

Here's what caught my eye. The sales page highlights six ingredients, three peptides and three botanicals. The label tells a bigger story: 47 lines, with six named peptides, two forms of vitamin C, three hydrators, tranexamic acid and five butters and oils. So this review walks through the whole jar, not just the headline names.

It's a natural fit for the woman who notices finer lines around her eyes and mouth, a neck that looks a little less smooth, or skin that feels drier than it used to. If that sounds familiar, you're in good company. The National Institute on Aging (NIA) explains that the loss of collagen and elastic fibers with age causes skin to develop wrinkles, and that hormonal changes such as menopause can make skin thinner and drier.

My skin and nail care after 50 guide covers the everyday habits that matter most at this stage. Repair & Release is built to sit on top of those habits as a simple morning-and-night ritual.

What's Inside South Beach Repair & Release Cream? The Label, Line by Line

Short answer: the Repair & Release label lists 47 ingredients. The highlights are six named peptides, among them acetyl hexapeptide-8 (Argireline) and palmitoyl tripeptide-38 (Matrixyl synthe'6), two forms of vitamin C, glycerin, trehalose and sodium hyaluronate for hydration, tranexamic acid, and squalane, shea, cocoa, coconut, sea buckthorn and argan for a rich, cushioned feel.

Cosmetic labels list ingredients from the largest amount to the smallest, so the order tells you a lot. Squalane, a light, skin-friendly oil, sits second, right after water, and the first peptide shows up twelfth, just after shea butter and cetearyl alcohol. One detail worth knowing: ingredients present at under 1% can be listed in any order, so the position of the smaller actives is a rough guide rather than an exact ranking.

The six peptides

Peptides are short chains of amino acids. A 2009 review by Gorouhi and Maibach in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science sorts the peptides used on aging skin into four families: signal peptides, enzyme-inhibitor peptides, neurotransmitter-inhibitor peptides and carrier peptides. Repair & Release names six of them on its label.

Argireline acetyl hexapeptide-8

Argireline is the best-known peptide on the list and one of the three the sales page features. It belongs to the neurotransmitter-inhibitor family, the peptides aimed at expression lines, the ones that come from smiling, squinting and frowning.

What the research looked at: in a 2002 study by Blanes-Mira and colleagues, the team that designed Argireline applied an oil-in-water emulsion with 10% of the peptide on healthy women volunteers and measured wrinkle depth reduced by up to 30% after 30 days, using skin topography analysis. Lab tests showed it dampens the release of the chemical messengers that drive muscle contraction. The brand doesn't publish the concentration in its jar, so I read this as solid background on a well-chosen peptide.

Matrixyl synthe'6 palmitoyl tripeptide-38

Matrixyl synthe'6 is a trade name from the ingredient maker Sederma (Croda), and it's the peptide the sales page leads with. Its clinical data comes mainly from its maker, which is common for branded skincare peptides, and it gives the formula a well-known name at the center of its peptide lineup.

Snap-8 acetyl octapeptide-3

Acetyl octapeptide-3 is sold to formulators as Snap-8, one of the three peptides the sales page names. On the label it's the first peptide listed, twelfth overall, right after shea butter and cetearyl alcohol.

Three more peptides not on the sales page

This is where the label gives you more than the marketing does. It also lists acetyl tetrapeptide-5, palmitoyl tripeptide-5 and palmitoyl dipeptide-5 diaminobutyroyl hydroxythreonine. That brings the total to six named peptides, a generous lineup for a single face and neck cream.

Vitamin C and the hydrators

Two forms of vitamin C ascorbyl glucoside · tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate

Neither one appears on the sales page, and I was happy to find both on the label. Ascorbyl glucoside sits fourteenth, among the peptides, and tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, an oil-loving form, appears further down. Both are vitamin C derivatives rather than pure ascorbic acid.

What the research looked at: a 2013 review by Telang in the Indian Dermatology Online Journal describes topical vitamin C as a potent antioxidant used for the changes of photoaging and for uneven pigmentation. Because pure vitamin C is unstable and hard to deliver into the skin, research has turned to more stable compounds, the kind of forms you see on this label.

Glycerin, trehalose and sodium hyaluronate the hydrators

Glycerin sits eighth, trehalose (a sugar that helps hold moisture) fifteenth, and sodium hyaluronate, the salt form of hyaluronic acid, further down. All three draw water into the top layer of the skin, which is what gives a cream that comfortable, plumped-up feel.

In its winter skin guide, the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) recommends hyaluronic acid, noting it absorbs 1,000 times its weight in water, and lists glycerin among the ingredients that work well for dry skin. That's a reassuring pair to find in a cream for women whose skin is getting drier with age.

Tranexamic acid, vitamin E and bisabolol the extras

Tranexamic acid is a less common ingredient to find in a peptide cream, and it's on this label. Tocopherol is vitamin E, a classic antioxidant in face creams, and bisabolol is best known as a component of chamomile. The list also includes glyceryl linoleate and a resin extract of Commiphora mukul.

The butters and oils

This is the part of the label that explains the texture. Squalane comes second, shea butter tenth, and further down you'll find cocoa seed butter, coconut oil, sea buckthorn fruit oil and argan kernel oil, plus caprylic/capric triglyceride, a light emollient. Together they give Repair & Release its rich, cushioned feel, which is a big part of why it can work as your everyday cream for the face and neck. The brand says the formula is non-comedogenic.

The rest of the list

The remaining lines are the ingredients that make a cream a cream: emulsifiers, thickeners, texture agents, pH helpers and preservatives. Here is the complete ingredient list as published on the official store, in label order, with the six peptides in bold:

Water, squalane, bis-stearyl dimethicone, behenyl alcohol, dicaprylyl carbonate, glyceryl stearate citrate, polyglyceryl-3 stearate, glycerin, caprylyl methicone, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, cetearyl alcohol, acetyl octapeptide-3, acetyl tetrapeptide-5, ascorbyl glucoside, trehalose, palmitoyl tripeptide-5, tetradecyl aminobutyroylvalylaminobutyric urea trifluoroacetate, palmitoyl dipeptide-5 diaminobutyroyl hydroxythreonine, hydroxypropyl cyclodextrin, palmitoyl tripeptide-38, sucrose palmitate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, glyceryl linoleate, commiphora mukul resin extract, sodium hyaluronate, tocopherol, disodium phosphate, acetyl hexapeptide-8, sodium phosphate, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, hippophae rhamnoides (sea buckthorn) fruit oil, argania spinosa (argan) kernel oil, bisabolol, tranexamic acid, ceteareth-20, lecithin, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, disodium EDTA, sodium acrylates copolymer, sodium polyacrylate, hydrogenated polydecene, trideceth-6, fragrance, phenoxyethanol, caprylyl glycol, chlorphenesin.

Listed from the largest amount to the smallest; ingredients under 1% can appear in any order. Fragrance sits near the end, fourth from last. Per the brand, the formula is free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates and BHA, and cruelty free.

How Does South Beach Repair & Release Cream Work?

Short answer: Repair & Release works on the surface of the skin in three ways. Its peptides are chosen to help smooth the look of fine and expression lines; glycerin, trehalose and sodium hyaluronate hold water in the top layer for a plumper look; and squalane, butters and oils soften and cushion, with two forms of vitamin C and vitamin E alongside.

Smooth

Six named peptides, including Argireline and Matrixyl synthe'6, for the look of fine and expression lines.

Hydrate

Glycerin, trehalose and sodium hyaluronate, which draw water into the skin's surface.

Nourish

Squalane, shea, cocoa, coconut, sea buckthorn and argan, with vitamin C and vitamin E.

How Do You Use South Beach Repair & Release Cream?

The brand's directions are simple: take a dime-sized amount, morning and night, and apply it to clean skin from your chin up to your forehead in upward sweeping motions until it's absorbed. Carry it down over your neck and chest too, as the brand recommends.

The brand says it can be used under the eyes, so pat it on gently there and keep it out of the eyes themselves. It also says the cream doubles as your moisturizer, which keeps the routine to one jar.

Start with a patch test

Any new skincare product is worth testing first. The AAD recommends applying it to a quarter-sized spot, such as the underside of your arm or the bend of your elbow, twice a day for seven to 10 days. If there's no redness, itching or swelling, you're ready to use it on your face and neck.

A simple daily skin routine with Repair & Release

Sunscreen is the habit with the strongest evidence behind it. The NIA notes that UV damage adds up over time and leads to wrinkles and premature skin aging, and the AAD recommends a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day on skin not covered by clothing. This is how I'd build the day around the cream:

  • Morning: gentle cleanse, a dime-sized amount of Repair & Release on face, neck and chest, then sunscreen last.
  • Evening: cleanse again and apply the cream before bed.
  • Every week: a quick look in good light. Fine lines change slowly, so judge the routine over several weeks.

If you like the idea of caring for your skin from the inside too, my Advanced Collagen Plus review looks at a daily collagen scoop.

South Beach Repair & Release Cream Pros and Cons

What I like

  • Six named peptides on the label, including Argireline and Matrixyl synthe'6.
  • Squalane second on the list, right after water.
  • Two forms of vitamin C, plus vitamin E, tranexamic acid and bisabolol.
  • Glycerin, trehalose and sodium hyaluronate, hydrators the AAD recommends for dry skin.
  • Shea, cocoa, coconut, sea buckthorn and argan for a rich, cushioned feel.
  • The full ingredient list is published, and the brand says it's cruelty free.
  • A dime-sized amount twice a day, and it doubles as your moisturizer.
  • 30-day money-back guarantee, even on a used jar, and free US shipping on 2 or 3 jars.

Worth knowing before you buy

  • The label lists fragrance near the very end, so a quick patch test is a smart first step, especially for sensitive skin, and then it's an easy twice-daily habit.
  • Like most creams, it shows ingredient order rather than percentages, and much of the peptide research comes from ingredient makers, while Argireline has a published 30-day study and the hydrators beside it are well established.
  • It ships within the US, where orders usually arrive in 5 to 7 business days.

Who Should (and Shouldn’t) Use South Beach Repair & Release Cream?

Short answer: Repair & Release suits women over 50 who want one rich cream for smoother, firmer-looking, well-hydrated skin on the face and neck, morning and night. If your skin is sensitive or reactive, start with a patch test, and if you use a prescription skin treatment, ask your dermatologist how to fit it in.

A good fit if you

  • Notice finer lines around your eyes and mouth, or skin that feels drier than it used to.
  • Want one cream for the face, neck and chest instead of a shelf of products.
  • Like a rich, cushioned texture, especially at night.
  • Prefer a brand that publishes its whole ingredient list.
  • Already wear sunscreen and want a peptide step on top.

Check first if you

  • Have sensitive or reactive skin. Start with the patch test above, and if redness or a rash appears, stop and talk to your doctor.
  • Use a prescription skin treatment. Ask your dermatologist how to fit a new cream into that routine.
  • Have a known allergy to any ingredient. The full list is above, so you can check it line by line.

For most healthy women over 50 who want one rich, peptide-packed cream for the face and neck, with a label that shows every ingredient, Repair & Release is an easy ritual to add to the time you already spend at the mirror.

South Beach Repair & Release Cream FAQ

Is South Beach Repair & Release Cream legit?

Yes. South Beach Repair & Release Cream is sold by South Beach Skin Lab, a skincare brand with its own online store, a full line of face, eye and neck products and customer support by email and phone on weekdays. The complete ingredient list is published on the official store, the jar is labeled 30 ml / 1.0 oz, and every order is backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee.

What peptides are in South Beach Repair & Release Cream?

The label names six peptides: acetyl octapeptide-3 (sold to formulators as Snap-8), acetyl tetrapeptide-5, palmitoyl tripeptide-5, palmitoyl dipeptide-5 diaminobutyroyl hydroxythreonine, palmitoyl tripeptide-38 (Matrixyl synthe'6) and acetyl hexapeptide-8 (Argireline). Around them sit two forms of vitamin C, sodium hyaluronate, glycerin, trehalose, tranexamic acid and squalane, so there is more in the jar than the sales page lists.

Is South Beach Repair & Release really a "face lift in a jar"?

"Face Lift In A Jar" is the nickname the brand uses on its sales page. A cream works on the surface of the skin, and Repair & Release is made to help skin look smoother, plumper and better hydrated, with peptides chosen for the look of fine and expression lines. If you are thinking about a procedure, a dermatologist is the right person to ask. As a daily cream, it is a rich, peptide-packed step for your morning and night routine.

How long does South Beach Repair & Release take to work?

Skin changes build slowly, so plan on several weeks of twice-daily use. The published Argireline study measured its results after 30 days, and the brand says one jar lasts 30 to 45 days with steady use. Results vary from person to person, and pairing the cream with daily sunscreen gives your skin the best chance to look its best.

Is South Beach Repair & Release Cream safe? Does it have side effects?

The formula uses ingredients that are common in skincare, and the brand says it is non-comedogenic and made for all adult skin types. The label lists fragrance near the very end, so do a patch test first, especially if your skin is sensitive, and stop if you notice redness, itching or a rash. If you use a prescription skin treatment, ask your dermatologist how to fit it in. Once your skin says yes, it is an easy twice-daily habit.

How do I use South Beach Repair & Release Cream? Can I use it under my eyes?

Apply a dime-sized amount to clean skin morning and night, sweeping upward from your chin to your forehead and down over your neck and chest until it is absorbed. The brand says it can be used under the eyes, so pat it on gently there and keep it out of the eyes themselves. In the morning, finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

Do I still need a moisturizer with South Beach Repair & Release?

According to the brand, no. South Beach Skin Lab says the cream acts as a regular moisturizer as well, so it can be your one cream for the face and neck. With squalane, shea butter, glycerin and sodium hyaluronate on the label, it is built for that rich, cushioned feel. In the morning, sunscreen still goes on last.

How much does South Beach Repair & Release Cream cost?

On October 10, 2026, the official order page listed 1 jar at $59.95 plus $4.95 shipping, 2 jars at $49.95 each ($99.90, free shipping, with 2 digital guides) and 3 jars at $38.85 each ($116.55, free shipping, with a Neck Firming Cream and 2 digital guides). Each option is a recurring shipment plan that sends the same kit again every 30, 60 or 90 days, and you can cancel at any time, which makes the 3-jar plan a simple way to keep your routine stocked at the best price per jar.

Does South Beach Repair & Release Cream ship outside the US?

Repair & Release ships within the United States. After you order, you get a shipping confirmation within 48 hours, and the package usually arrives in 5 to 7 business days. Shipping is free on the 2-jar and 3-jar options.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Yes. Every order is backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee, and the brand says it applies even if you have used the whole jar. That gives you a full month of morning and night use to see how your skin feels, so you can try it with real peace of mind.
