Terms and product details as stated by the producer on the official store page and the label, checked September 23, 2026.
What is Her Bodhi Menopause Balance, and who is it for?
Her Bodhi Menopause Balance is a hormone-free botanical supplement for women during and after menopause, and the best seller in the Her Bodhi range. Each bottle holds 60 vegan capsules; a serving is two capsules with a meal, so one bottle lasts a month. It is sold as support for hot flashes, sleep and mood.
Her Bodhi is a wellness brand focused on women over 50. Next to Menopause Balance, the store sells a Super Greens Blend, a Creatine Powder, an Omega 3 and a separate Hormonal Support formula. This review is about Menopause Balance only, because it is the product most women arriving here are asking about, and the one the brand itself labels "Best seller".
It suits a woman who is waking up at 3 a.m. too warm to sleep, feels her fuse getting shorter in the afternoon, and wants a plant-based daily habit before, or alongside, a conversation with her doctor. If that sounds familiar, this review walks through what changes in your body after menopause and which line of the label is there for which change.
What is inside Her Bodhi Menopause Balance?
Two capsules, seven botanicals, 1,250 mg in total, and an exact amount on every line. No proprietary blend hides the numbers. Here is the panel, followed by what each ingredient is.
The Supplement Facts panel as published by Her Bodhi. Serving size: 2 capsules, 30 servings per bottle.
300 mg + 300 mg
Ashwagandha (KSM-66 + root)
300 mg of KSM-66, a branded root extract used in clinical research, plus 300 mg of ashwagandha root. The stress and sleep side of the formula.
400 mg
Milk Thistle Seed Extract
The largest single line. A traditional liver herb, included, in the brand's words, for the liver's role in hormone metabolism.
80 mg
Black Cohosh Root Extract
A North American herb and one of the most studied botanicals for hot flashes and night sweats.
80 mg
Soy Isoflavones
Plant compounds from soy bean extract, known as phytoestrogens. Studied for hot flashes and bone density after menopause.
50 mg
Flax Seed
NCCIH lists flaxseed as another phytoestrogen source, and it adds a little fiber. A small supporting amount.
40 mg
Red Clover Herb Extract
A second source of isoflavones, the same family of compounds as soy, often paired with it in menopause formulas.
The rest of the label
Other ingredients: a hypromellose (vegetable) capsule, rice flour and magnesium stearate. The producer describes the formula as hormone-free, vegan and gluten-free, and says it is manufactured in the USA. The bottle front reads "Botanical extract blend" and lists 1,250 mg per serving.
Contains soy
The panel states it plainly, and the producer's help center adds that anyone with a known soy allergy should avoid it. Milk thistle can also trigger reactions in people allergic to ragweed, daisies, marigolds or chrysanthemums, according to NCCIH.
What changes in your body after menopause, and which ingredient is there for it?
During the menopausal transition, the ovaries make far less estrogen and progesterone. According to the National Institute on Aging, the average age of menopause in the United States is 52, and symptoms can last between two and eight years. The most common ones are hot flashes, night sweats and trouble sleeping.
The clearest way to read this label is to line each ingredient up against the change it is meant to support. Here is that map, with what NIH sources say about each ingredient.
| What changes | On the label | What the research says |
|---|---|---|
| Hot flashes and night sweats | Black cohosh 80 mg | NCCIH reports that a 2023 review of 22 studies found black cohosh products "potentially beneficial for overall menopause symptoms," with improvements in hot flashes. |
| Falling estrogen | Soy isoflavones 80 mg, red clover 40 mg | NCCIH says soy isoflavones may help reduce the frequency and severity of hot flashes, though the effect may be small. Red clover results for hot flashes have been inconsistent. |
| Bone density | Soy isoflavones 80 mg | MedlinePlus lists bone loss among the effects of losing estrogen, and NCCIH says soy isoflavones "probably have a beneficial effect on bone density in postmenopausal women." |
| Stress, mood and sleep | KSM-66 ashwagandha 300 mg + root 300 mg | A 2025 placebo-controlled trial of this same root extract in women aged 45 to 55 concluded it "can be a potential herbal intervention for managing menopausal symptoms." |
| Hormone processing | Milk thistle 400 mg, flax seed 50 mg | Supporting roles. NCCIH describes milk thistle as well tolerated when taken by mouth; flax adds lignans and fiber in a small amount. |
Sources: NCCIH on black cohosh, NCCIH on soy, NCCIH on red clover, MedlinePlus on menopause, the 2025 ashwagandha trial in Frontiers in Reproductive Health and NCCIH on milk thistle.
Why that map matters to you
Menopause Balance covers the symptoms the NIA lists as most common in this stage, hot flashes, night sweats and trouble sleeping, plus the hormonal shift behind them and the stress that comes with it. Each one has a named ingredient with a printed amount.
The KSM-66 line is a good example of a label you can check. KSM-66 is a specific, branded ashwagandha root extract, and it is the extract used in a 2025 trial of women aged 45 to 55. You are not left guessing which ashwagandha is in the capsule.
Her Bodhi Menopause Balance pros and cons

- ! The serving is two capsules a day, taken with a meal.
- ! The official store ships across the United States.
The Idea Behind the Formula
How is Her Bodhi Menopause Balance supposed to work?
The formula works on three fronts at once. Plant compounds that interact gently with estrogen receptors, an adaptogen for the stress response, and supporting herbs for the liver and gut. None of them is a hormone, which is the whole point of the product.
Plant estrogens, gently
Soy isoflavones and red clover are phytoestrogens. NCCIH explains that phytoestrogens have chemical structures similar to estrogen, and Her Bodhi describes their effect as much milder than prescription hormones.
Black cohosh for the heat
Black cohosh is the ingredient aimed most directly at hot flashes and night sweats. NCCIH notes that a substantial number of studies in people have looked at it for menopause symptoms.
Calm and sleep
Ashwagandha is an adaptogen, an herb traditionally used to help the body handle stress. The brand suggests taking the capsules in the evening if calm and sleep are your main goals.
What the research says so far
These are among the most researched plants in women's health. On black cohosh, NCCIH notes that "a substantial number of studies in people have evaluated black cohosh for menopause symptoms," and its most recent summary is encouraging for hot flashes. On soy, NCCIH says there is enough research to conclude there are potential benefits for menopausal hot flashes and bone density.
For ashwagandha, the 2025 trial in Frontiers in Reproductive Health gave 60 women aged 45 to 55 either the root extract or a placebo for 56 days, at 300 mg twice a day, and measured menopause symptoms, stress and hot flash events.
The research covers the ingredients, and your own experience over a few months tells you the rest. The NCCIH menopause overview is also clear that hormone therapy is the most effective treatment for hot flashes, which is worth knowing if your symptoms are severe.
How do the doses on the label compare with the research?
A milligram figure only means something next to the amounts researchers used. Here is where each ingredient in one serving of two capsules sits.
| Ingredient | Per serving | For context |
|---|---|---|
| KSM-66 ashwagandha extract | 300 mg | The 2025 menopause trial used the same extract at 300 mg twice a day, 600 mg in total. The label adds 300 mg of plain ashwagandha root on top of its 300 mg of extract. |
| Black cohosh root extract | 80 mg | The same amount as the soy isoflavones, in one of the most studied menopause herbs. The label gives the extract amount without a standardization figure, which is common on botanical panels. |
| Soy isoflavones | 80 mg | NCCIH notes that soy extracts containing concentrated isoflavones "have been used safely for up to 6 months" in research. |
| Milk thistle seed extract | 400 mg | The largest single amount in the formula, in a herb NCCIH describes as well tolerated when taken by mouth. |
| Flax seed and red clover | 50 mg and 40 mg | Supporting amounts that round out the phytoestrogen side of the blend. NCCIH notes red clover extracts have been used in studies for as long as two years with apparent safety. |
What this means for you
Read plainly, Menopause Balance gives each of its headline botanicals a clear, printed place in a two-capsule serving: 80 mg of black cohosh extract, 80 mg of soy isoflavones, and a named KSM-66 extract alongside plain ashwagandha root. That is a thoughtful daily formula for a plant-based approach.
It is also a gentle one, with no stimulants and no synthetic hormones. If you want a steady daily habit with a transparent label behind it, this is built to be that.
What else helps with hot flashes after 50?
A capsule works best alongside a few simple habits. The National Institute on Aging suggests trying lifestyle changes first: dress in layers you can remove when a hot flash starts, keep the bedroom cool, sip cold water before bed and carry a small portable fan.
It also recommends noticing what triggers your hot flashes, and quitting smoking, both for hot flashes and for your overall health. MedlinePlus adds that being overweight can make hot flashes worse, and that a lack of sleep over time can lead to fatigue and memory problems.
I wrote a whole article on this: hot flashes after 50, and what actually helps. My guide to menopause supplements also compares the formulas I have reviewed side by side.
Why do bones and muscle matter more after menopause?
Estrogen helps protect bone, so when it falls, bone density can start to drop. MedlinePlus lists bone loss among the effects of losing estrogen. That is one reason soy isoflavones earn their place on this label, and one reason strength training becomes such a good friend after 50.
Lifting weights, walking and climbing stairs ask your bones and muscles to stay strong. Pair that with enough calcium, vitamin D and protein from food, and a daily supplement becomes one small piece of a bigger routine.
If stress is your loudest symptom, my MenoRescue review looks at a cortisol-focused formula. If you want a black cohosh blend without ashwagandha, my MenoSoothe review covers the classic trio, and Menovelle takes a different angle on weight and estrogen. For sleep on its own, see my Yu Sleep review.
How do you take Her Bodhi Menopause Balance?
Two capsules a day, with a meal
The brand's instructions are two capsules per day with a meal, or as directed by your healthcare provider. One bottle of 60 capsules is 30 servings, a month's supply.
Morning or evening, then keep it steady
Her Bodhi suggests the morning for daytime energy and stress, or the evening if calm and sleep matter most. Whichever you choose, take it at the same time each day.
Think in months, not days
The producer recommends at least three months of use and a check-in with your doctor every three to six months. It also says timing varies: some women notice a difference within a week or two, others need longer.
On thyroid medication?
The help center says to take levothyroxine on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, and Her Bodhi at least four hours later with food. Check the timing with your doctor.
Who should try Her Bodhi Menopause Balance, and who should skip it?
It may suit you if
- ✓ You are in perimenopause or past menopause and want a hormone-free, plant-based option.
- ✓ Hot flashes, night sweats, broken sleep and a shorter fuse are your main complaints.
- ✓ You like a label that shows every number, with a named KSM-66 extract.
- ✓ You are comfortable giving a supplement about three months before you judge it.
- ✓ Your doctor has ruled out anything that needs treatment and is happy for you to try it.
Talk to your doctor first, or skip it, if
- ! You have had breast or uterine cancer, or another hormone-sensitive condition. Her Bodhi says the product has not been tested in hormone-positive breast cancer, and NCCIH says it is uncertain whether black cohosh is safe for women who have had these conditions.
- ! You take tamoxifen or any other breast cancer treatment. Memorial Sloan Kettering notes that black cohosh may interfere with the action of tamoxifen. Ask your oncologist before adding any supplement.
- ! You use hormone therapy, birth control or a hormonal IUD. The producer itself asks you to check with your provider, because the phytoestrogens can interact with estrogen pathways.
- ! You take a blood thinner, antidepressants, diabetes or blood pressure medication. The producer lists blood thinners and antidepressants, and NCCIH notes ashwagandha might interact with diabetes and blood pressure drugs.
- ! You have a thyroid, autoimmune or liver condition. NCCIH says ashwagandha is not recommended with thyroid or autoimmune disorders, and rare liver injury has been linked to both ashwagandha and black cohosh products.
- ! You are allergic to soy or to ragweed-family plants. The label says "Contains soy," and milk thistle can trigger reactions in people allergic to ragweed, daisies or marigolds.
- ! You are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have surgery planned. The producer says it is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and to stop at least two weeks before surgery.
NCCIH advises anyone taking black cohosh to consult a health care provider if they develop signs of liver damage such as dark urine and fatigue.

My verdict: 4.5 out of 5
This is my technical rating, based on the information I collected (the label, the order page and the research), not a lab result or a test I ran. Here is how I got to the number: seven criteria, each scored out of 5. They do not all weigh the same, so the final score is a weighted average.

Final score: 4.5 out of 5

Talk to your doctor first, or skip it, if you have a hormone-sensitive condition, take tamoxifen or hormone therapy, or have a liver or thyroid condition.
If your instinct told you Her Bodhi was worth a serious look, the label gives you good reasons to trust that instinct: well-known menopause botanicals, a named extract, every milligram in plain view. Keep your expectations at steady support, give it the three months the brand suggests, and you will know where you stand.

No. The producer describes the formula as hormone-free, with no estrogen and no synthetic hormones. The producer suggests at least three months of daily use, and as with any supplement, results vary.
Are there side effects, and who should not take it? +

Talk to your doctor first if you have had breast or uterine cancer or another hormone-sensitive condition, take tamoxifen, hormone therapy, a blood thinner, thyroid medication or antidepressants, have a liver or thyroid condition, are allergic to soy or ragweed-family plants, or have surgery planned. NCCIH notes that liver problems, though rare, have been reported with black cohosh and ashwagandha products.

I started Primaurea after my own menopause transition sent me down a rabbit hole of studies, forums and ingredient labels, with a list of questions that never fit into a 15-minute appointment.
